Play and learning is a big part of our day here at Natural Wonders. Below are a few guidelines for clothing options when your children are at school.

We are asking you to send your child in with “croc-like” shoes to keep in the classroom. We are using them as our “inside shoes”. They are easy for the children to put on and take off themselves. They prevent them from slipping on a wet floor and minimize street/playground debris from entering our classroom. Please no dress shoes or flip-flops. They are dangerous on the playground. If using sneakers, please use Velcro rather than ties. Children this age are not expected to tie and we want them to feel a sense of independence by taking on and off their shoes themselves.

Potty: When children begin using the potty independently it is important that they can pull their pants up and down easily. If this is a challenge for your child, send them in with elastic waist pants until they have the dexterity to master buttons, snaps, zippers, etc.

Bags: Please work with your child to show them the proper way to wear their school bags around their shoulders NOT their necks.
